Job Title: Crushing Maintenance Technician / Officer
Department: Maintenance / Plant Operations
Reports To: General Manager
Location: Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County, Liberia
Employment Type: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY

Edrine Rock Crusher Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Crushing Maintenance Technician/Officer to oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of crushing plant equipment and machinery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime of crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated equipment through proactive preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and effective troubleshooting. This role reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical part in sustaining safe, efficient, and continuous crushing plant operations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform routine inspection, servicing, and preventive maintenance of jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and other crushing plant equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and structural faults on crushing equipment and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule/plan for all crushing plant machinery and ensure strict adherence.
  • Monitor equipment performance and wear parts (jaw plates, mantles, concaves, liners, screens) and coordinate timely replacement.
  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, fitters, welders, and maintenance assistants on the crushing site.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, spare parts inventory, and equipment history files.
  • Ensure availability of critical spare parts and consumables by liaising with the Procurement/Stores Department.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with Production/Operations staff to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to crushing operations.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance staff on best practices, safety procedures, and proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, including during off-hours when required, to restore operations quickly.
  • Prepare periodic maintenance reports and updates for submission to the General Manager.
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of maintenance tools, lifting equipment, and workshop facilities.
  • Enforce and promote a strong culture of safety, discipline, and accountability within the maintenance team.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, or Trade/Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in crushing plant maintenance, quarry/mining equipment maintenance, or heavy industrial plant maintenance.
  • Proven experience maintaining and repairing crushers (jaw, cone, or impact), screens, conveyors, and associated crushing plant equipment.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience managing a maintenance team in a quarry, mining, or industrial plant setting.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Valid certification in welding, fabrication, or fitting is an added advantage.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Sound knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and results-driven approach.
  • Good record-keeping, reporting, and basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and respond to emergency breakdowns as needed.
  • Physically fit and able to work in a quarry/industrial site environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is based on-site at the crushing plant in Zarzone Town, District 1, Margibi County, Liberia. The role requires working in an outdoor quarry/industrial environment, exposure to dust, noise, and heavy machinery, and may require extended hours, weekend work, or emergency call-outs to address urgent equipment breakdowns.
