LR_Supervisor - Dispatch (398821)

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

Supervise real-time dispatch of haul trucks, loaders, and auxiliary equipment using Fleet Management Systems (FMS) to optimize production flow.

Monitor and control equipment allocation to minimize queue times, optimize cycle times, and maximize payload efficiency.

Ensure adherence to short-term mine plans, material routing (ore/waste), and dumping strategies.

Ensure accurate and continuous operation of dispatch systems (e.g., CAT MineStar, or equivalent).

Validate data inputs, including truck counts, cycle times, payloads, and delays, for accuracy and reporting integrity.

Investigate and resolve system alarms, data anomalies, and communication failures in real time.

Monitor key production KPIs, including tons moved, cycle times, equipment utilization, and availability.

Identify inefficiencies such as bottlenecks, queuing, underloading, or excessive idle time and implement corrective actions.

Support achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly production targets through optimized dispatch strategies.

Liaise with mining supervisors, planners, and survey teams to align dispatch activities with mine plans and priorities.

Coordinate with maintenance teams to manage equipment downtime, breakdowns, and planned maintenance schedules.

Ensure seamless communication between field operations and dispatch to maintain operational continuity.

Generate and review shift reports on production performance, delays, and equipment efficiency.

Conduct root cause analysis on production losses and recommend improvement initiatives.

Drive continuous improvement in dispatch strategies through data analytics and system optimization.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in mining engineering, engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in open-pit mining operations, with at least 2–3 years in dispatch or fleet control
• Strong understanding of mining production cycles (load-haul-dump processes)
• Proven experience with FMS platforms (e.g., Fast2Mine, Frotcom, etc.)
• Knowledge of production reporting systems and mining KPIs

Working Conditions

24/7 shift-based role in a mining dispatch control room environment

Continuous monitoring of operations via digital systems and radio communication

High interaction with field personnel and operational leadership

Occasional field visits to validate operational conditions and constraints

Regularly review environmental performance metrics and indicators to track progress, identify trends, and address areas for improvement.

Ensure all environmental incidents are reported promptly and investigated thoroughly in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Collaborate with the Environment team to identify opportunities for environmental improvement and develop strategic programs to enhance sustainability practices.
