Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

Lead the shift safely and visibly, ensuring Zero Harm behaviours, critical risk controls, field presence, housekeeping and environmental compliance.

Deliver the shift, daily and monthly production plan through stable operation, effective handover, standard work and disciplined control room/field coordination.

Manage performance of reflux classifiers, dewatering screens, magnetic separators, pan filters, pumps, sumps, feed boxes, slurry lines, chutes, conveyors and process water systems.

Control and improve key production KPIs: feed rate, throughput, availability, utilization, downtime, OEE, yield/recovery, quality and operating stability.

Control and improve quality KPIs including product specification, moisture, contamination control and process consistency.

Control cost through efficient use of energy, water, consumables, maintenance support, spillage control, rework reduction and loss elimination.

Care for people and morale by coaching operators, building skills, setting clear expectations, managing attendance, performance, discipline and team engagement.

Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Planning, Metallurgy/Process, Laboratory, Mining, Control Room and Logistics to remove constraints and sustain reliability.

Use plant data, SCADA/PI reports, shift logs and visual management to make timely decisions and communicate accurate production information.

Lead first-line troubleshooting, incident investigations and RCAs for safety, environmental, quality and production losses; ensure actions are closed on time.

Support start-ups, shutdowns, isolations, inspections and return-to-service activities with safe and efficient execution.

Promote continuous improvement, automation, standard operating procedures and best practices aligned with world-class concentrator operations.

Qualifications / Experience / Technical Knowledge

Diploma or degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field; equivalent operational experience may be considered.

Minimum 4 years in mineral processing/concentrator operations, preferably in iron ore separation, with supervisory or team leadership experience.

Practical knowledge of screening, reflux classification, magnetic separation, filtration/dewatering, pumping, sumps, slurry handling, conveyors and process water systems.

Strong understanding of production KPIs, HSE compliance, quality control, operating cost, equipment reliability and daily management systems.

Ability to use production reporting systems, SCADA/PI, dashboards, shift reports and basic data analysis to drive performance.

Working Conditions

Plant-based role in the Concentrator - Yekepa, Liberia.

Shift work including nights, weekends and public holidays as required.

Exposure to noise, dust, wet areas, slurry, heights, mobile equipment interaction and varying temperatures typical of a mineral processing plant.

Mandatory use of PPE and full compliance with AML safety, isolation and operating procedures.

Health and Safety
