LR_Team Leader - Security (394254)

Duties and Responsibilities / KPI’s

Reports to the Security Supervisor (or Superintendent where no Supervisor is employed).

Set a good example to his team members by demonstrating integrity, commitment, security knowledge, work ethic and self-discipline.

Be familiar with and understand the Site Security Plan and its associated SOPs.

Be familiar with and understand the guard’s KPIs and Scope of Work in the guard contract.

Be familiar with the VPSHR.

Ensure that any sub-contracted control room staff and patrol teams are operating efficiently, according to their KPIs/SoW, and according to the policies and procedures detailed in the site security plan and that any deficiencies are escalated quickly.

Ensure that the contracted guards in his AoR are operating in accordance with the VPSHR.

Understand his duties in any site emergency response plans and ensure his team of guards execute their roles therein rapidly and effectively.

Monitor the guards’ compliance with AML safety requirements and escalate any issues.

• Escalate all security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities in his AoR in a timely manner.
• Complete all routine daily and weekly reports on time.
• Conduct all daily checks as directed.
• Complete an effective handover at the beginning and end of each shift.

Asset Management

Account for and look after all AML serial-numbered equipment issued to him, with any faults or losses reported quickly to the superintendent.

Inspect security systems (CCTV, access control, lighting, fences & gates, guard huts, towers and offices) in his AoR and report any faults to his supervisor.

Ensure all communications systems issued to him, or his guards are functional and report any comms deficiencies to his superintendent immediately.

Take care of any vehicles issued to him, conduct daily checks, and report any faults immediately.

Keep all occurrence books, registers, logbooks, contact lists, work files and folders well-organised, up to date, and secure.

Keep any keys issued to him secure.

Other Responsibilities

Maintain effective liaison with other AML departments.

Act for the Supervisor during his annual leave, as directed and cover for other TLs during annual leave or sick leave.

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

Essential:

• Grade 12 with tertiary Security qualification

Desirable:

• Diploma in Security or equivalent qualification

KEY EXPERIENCES REQUIRED PRIOR TO TAKING THE POSITION:

Essential:

• Previously worked in the field of Security

Desirable:

• Experience with the mining sector
