Are you an experienced Production Manager with a passion for operational excellence, continuous improvement, and leading high-performing teams? We are seeking a Production Manager based in Nelspruit , Mpumalanga, to lead processing and packing operations within a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving production performance, optimizing resources, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, and legislative requirements while delivering operational excellence and achieving production targets.

Minimum Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Production Management, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. Relevant manufacturing and leadership qualifications will be advantageous. Wheat or Maize Milling qualification and practical experience will be advantageous.

6-7 years' relevant experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment, including at least 5 years in a management role. Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, SHEQ, labour relations, budgeting, and continuous improvement practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage production operations to achieve safety, quality, cost, and productivity targets.
• Optimize labour, equipment, and material utilisation to maximise plant performance.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Manage departmental budgets and support capital project implementation.
• Lead, coach, and develop teams to achieve operational and strategic objectives.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and SHEQ teams to ensure seamless operations.
• Monitor and report on key operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.
