BACKGROUND
Liberia possesses natural resources and fertile land along with valuable fishing areas; however, it grapples with development hurdles linked to environmental damage and inadequate infrastructure and institutions despite its abundance of resources. The nation encounters difficulties in enhancing smallholder agriculture and fisheries performance that impact people's livelihood opportunities well as food security and hinder overall economic progress.
OBJECTIVE
The Project Procurement Officer's primary responsibility is to properly ensure and coordinate all procurement activities of the project in accordance with the project document and the republic of Liberia Public Procurement and Concession Act (PPC Act) and regulations thereunder. The Project Procurement Officer is also expected to ensure that all procurement processes adhere to GEF procurement guidelines / standards for the smooth implementation of the project.
The Project Procurement Officer will form part of the PMU staff and will work closely with the Project Manager, the Administration and Finance Assistant, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, Gender, Safeguard & Stakeholder Engagement Expert, Knowledge Management & Communication Officer, Innovative Finance Expert, and Driver under the direct supervision of the Executive Director.
