Business Development Officer Responsibilities:

  • The Business Development Officer will support the design, implementation, and scaling of digital transformation initiatives, including digital financial services, field digitalization, and product development.
  • Working closely with the Business Development Manager and Country Management Team, the role involves conducting customer needs analysis, developing business cases, and coordinating cross-functional teams to implement digital solutions effectively.
  • The officer will also support project monitoring, training, and change management to ensure successful adoption and impact.
  • Additionally, the role includes contributing to marketing strategies, strengthening partnerships with external stakeholders such as FinTechs and service providers.
  • promoting best practices and knowledge sharing to enhance digital innovation and customer experience.

Job Summary:

The Business Development Officer will support market research and analysis to guide the development of customer-focused digital financial products and services, particularly for women and youth. The role involves driving innovation by identifying and leveraging technology to overcome barriers such as access, usage, digital literacy, and security. Working closely with internal teams, the officer will contribute to designing solutions that enhance financial inclusion and improve customer engagement across BRAC’s target markets. The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate closely with microfinance teams, including senior management and field staff, to support program implementation and coordination.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of digital training programs for clients and staff by developing training content and plans.
  • Support the Business Development Manager and other staff in the department and Country Management Team in strengthening program effectiveness, including assisting in the design and development of monitoring systems to track performance and impact.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Results-driven Business Development Officer with strong knowledge of microfinance operations and an understanding of digital products and emerging technologies.
  • Experienced in supporting digital transformation initiatives and managing projects by translating business needs into practical solutions.
  • Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and resilience under pressure.
  • Possesses strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English, with a solid foundation in microfinance and digital innovation.

Education and Experience:

Education: BSc, any field

Experience:

  • At least experience in implementing business development initiatives, with the ability to build and maintain trust among stakeholders. Strong reporting skills, with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. Knowledge of international standards and proven ability to apply best practices in business development.
